Red Light Green Light

Have you ever played the game “Red Light Green Light” as a kid?

Believe it or not, this can be a useful game to help determine which foods you should or shouldn’t be eating!

One of the most common questions we get is, “What foods should I eat and what foods should I not eat?” Should I stay away from cheese? Should I eat more brown rice? Are carbs bad for you?

For the most part…It depends!

Everyone’s body is different and has different needs. Everyone also has different intolerances, allergies, etc.

Try categorizing your foods into red, yellow, and green light foods. Eat more “Green Light Foods”. Eat some “Yellow Light Foods”. Eat less “Red Light Foods.”

Red light foods are:

Processed foods

⛔️Make you feel sick
⛔️Don’t support your goals
⛔️Foods you know you will overeat

Yellow light foods are:

⭐️Foods that don’t make you feel sick, but also don’t make you feel great
⭐️Foods you can eat a little of
⭐️Foods you can digest okay sometimes

Green light foods are:

✔️Foods you like
✔️Foods that make you feel great
✔️Support your goals
✔️Foods you digest well

As you go through the day, if you discover a food that makes you feel bloated or sick to your stomach, add it to the red light list.

If you discover a food that tastes amazing and gives you energy, add it to the green light list.

This is a quick way to give yourself some clarity on which foods you should gravitate towards, and which foods may not be the best for your body!

Once you have made a list of foods in each category, you can use that information to create grocery lists or plan out your meals for the week!

Give it a shot!

Do you have any nutrition tips for identifying which foods work best with your body?

Is there anything you are currently struggling with and need some guidance? If so, I would love to help out!
